Dada Shiva is a rapper-producer based in Cape Town and Pretoria. His sound explores the construction of polarity through the projection of multiple personalities within single tracks. “Dada” is both a reference to Nas’ nickname, “Da don Dada,” and Dadaism, an art movement of the European avant-garde in the early 20th Century.
His debut solo EP is available for download from his new website, FIRE WATER is a six track meditation on the elements and on turn. He’s just released visuals for the project’s first single, Die for Dada, shot by photographer and videographer Dave East at the Waiting Room in Cape Town. Dada Shiva is also a member of Cape Town creative collective, Tone Society, who were recently at the helm of GQ South Africa’s weekly style diary.
