The Back to the City Festival countdown clock has hit a couple of days and the anticipation is at a fever pitch. The festival will take place at Maryfitzgerald Square in Newtown and the line-up was announced in full on April 8 on the Back to the City facebook page which includes industry heavyweights such as Cassper Nyovest, Reason, Khuli Chana and many more headlining the show.
TSA is another one of the hip hop acts included in this year’s line-up, making a much anticipated debut at the festival he is one army to look out for. An independent recording artist and songwriter born and bred in Johannesburg at a mere age of 22 years, is ready to take on the big stage. Having been featured in last year’s Hype Magazine’s Newcomers Delight, he will most certainly get a chance to prove why he was awarded with this accolade.

His live set will see him preview tracks from his upcoming visual pre-album titled the “The Zxne”, which is a “Gusheshe Music” produced 5-track project set to drop later this year. Providing a twist to a typical hip-hop music offering, “The Zxne” extends the notion of an audio offering into a visually represented musical film/story.
You can prepare yourself for this elusive lyricist’s Freedom Day showcase by checking out some of his already released hot stand-alone singles on soundcloud. Be sure to make it out to Back to the City main stage on April 27.
